The Location: Historic, Edgy, Energetic
East Parmenter Street is located in the historic Liberty Street area of Newburgh, New York. It's one of the most exciting areas of the city, rich with American history, architecture, and new shops and restaurants springing up at every turn.
The majestic site of Washington's Headquarters overlooking the mighty Hudson River is just around the corner. Come to river watch, soak up the history, or participate in many public celebrations. You'll love the emerging business district, just steps from your home. Enjoy a morning cappuccino at the nearby café, order a delectable homemade cheesecake from the bakery, pick up your art supplies or have that painting framed at the local art supply and frame store. There are a variety of antique shops and exciting new stores at which to shop. East Parmenter is a neighborhood filled with diverse amenities and opportunities.
Walk or ride your bike a bit further and you can enjoy Newburgh's waterfront, with its ongoing array of festivities, music, restaurants, artwork, and popular waterfront walkway. Also in this area is the Newburgh ferry - a short and convenient trip across the Hudson River to Beacon, New York. It makes for an easy train ride to the big apple - New York City!
As an extra bonus, East Parmenter Street is in close proximity to the planned Newburgh Waterfront project, Orange County Community College and the Broadway corridor.
Live and Work in Newburgh
Prepared by noted architect Michael Watkins of Duany, Plater-Zyberk & Company ("DPZ"), the master plan for East Parmenter Street includes a series of 24 residences in this remarkable neighborhood of historic, natural and man-made amenities. Donald Powers Architects is the design architect for the homes.
Developer LeylandAlliance LLC and Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh are working together to create the neighborhood, which also features two pocket parks, historically-designed street lamps, underground utilities and city water and sewer. Only sixteen residences will be available for purchase, ranging from single-family detached homes, town homes, and multi-family homes. The remaining eight residences are Habitat for Humanity homes that will house working families who have a keen desire to obtain the American Dream of home ownership.
